“Leinster Lodge” is a charming 250 year old semi-detached Georgian farmhouse situated on a working farm in quiet, peaceful countryside. Originally owned and used as a hunting lodge by the Duke of Leinster, it has been carefully restored to the very highest standards for your comfort and enjoyment, retaining many of its original features and furnishings.

Leinster Lodge provides an ideal touring base for the East and South-East of Ireland with Dublin 1 hour, Rosslare 2 hours and Co. Wexford 30 minutes drive per car. Kilkea Golf Course is situated just 5 minutes from Leinster Lodge.

ATTRACTIONS AND AMENITIES:

"Leinster Lodge" is conveniently located close to the market town of Carlow, the heritage town of Athy and is also within an hour’s drive of our exciting capital city, Dublin.

Kildare is famous for its horses, racing and stud farms and “Leinster Lodge” is within easy reach of the Curragh, Naas and Punchestown Racecourses, the National Stud and Horse Museum near Kildare town.

Just 2km from “Leinster Lodge” is the River Barrow. Fishing here is good and varied and regular catches include bream, rudd, hybrids, pike, perch and brown trout. Upstream the river is most appealing to the trout angler with streamy sections ready made for the dry fly angler. “Leinster Lodge” also has a bait fridge and a house available for storing fishing tackle.

There are a variety of walking routes to be enjoyed. The sign-posted tow-path routes on the Grand and Royal Canals are suitable for long-distance walking, or for a short stroll.

Sedate parkland courses abound, providing a challenge for golfers of all standards. Excellent 18 hole golf courses in Athy, Kilkea, Killerig, Mount Wolseley Hilton and Carlow are but a few minutes away.
