A former steward's house, Germaines and Courtyard Cottage is built from local cut granite. The building dates from 1846 and the cottage consists of a large double bedroom en suite with bath, shower and WC. The view from the windows is of Slievnama where the sun rises in the morning.

The fitted kitchen has every modern convenience and leads off a comfortable sitting room with open log fire and french windows opening onto a secluded courtyard where visitors may sit and relax or eat outside if the weather permits. There is also a door on the other side which leads onto a large lawn and more seats to enjoy the evening sun.

The cottage has fitted wool carpets throughout and all basic provisions (including eggs from the chickens if they are laying), towels, linen, oil, logs and electricity are provided free of charge. Diesel, the black labrador, is also there to give visitors a big welcome.

If needed, there is a double bedroom and bathroom in the main house which may also be used if visitors have friends as the cottage has all equipment for 4 people.

The accommodation is fully approved by Bord Failte, and has a four star rating.

The cottage is surrounded by six acres of gardens, and many more acres of fields and woodland.
