TULLOW: Tullow, is located in the River Slaney Valley in the midst of rich, fertile agricultural land. Tullow reflects an enduring historical culture with many items of antiquity including an ancient holed stone "Cloch a Phoill" (Ardristan), a pre-historic ring fort (Rathgall) and a prehistoric burial place (Bawnoge). Tullow is also the ancestral home of the famous Wolseley family - Frederick York Wolseley gave his name to the Wolseley car. It is known locally as the granite town because of its magnificent stone approach roads as well as its granite public buildings. VISITOR ATTRACTIONS: Rathwood

One of Ireland's very special places the gardens are widely regarded as the most beautiful and relaxing in the country. The gardens of which there are three distinct elements are the work of succeeding generations of the Wilson family and were first laid down almost two hundred years ago. "Magic", "timeless" and "romantic" are all words that have been used to describe the gardens. Tobinstown

gentle rolling hills of Co. Carlow now offer another golfing jewel to
the crown of magnificent courses in Carlow and the surrounding area. Located
just outside Carlow town, Killerig Castle Golf Club has already established
a reputation of having some of the finest greens in Ireland. Designed
by Des Smyth and Declan Brannigan this imaginatively laid out course has
water in play on six of its 18 U.S.G.A. specification greens. Mount
Wolseley Hotel, Golf & Country Club The visual delights of this golf course are legion - the meandering River Slaney, just a few hundred metres away, its banks dressed with the rich cloth of mature deciduous trees, the lakes mirroring the haunting splendours of the mountains of East Carlow and Wicklow. The course offers a formidable challenge to any golfer with its rich population of mature trees, lakes and rolling terrain. There are no easy holes, with wide landing areas the only concession to demanding approach shots to almost every green. A round of golf at Mount Wolseley is always a treat to remember for golfers who enjoy a challenging and relaxing game, in what is a memorable and historic location.
