This family run farmhouse is just 4km from Rathvilly, an attractive riverside village and recipient of many National Tidy Towns Awards. A comfortable farmhouse, it offers you a relaxing break with warm hospitality and delicious home baking guaranteed. Generously sized bedrooms offer all modern facilities. Amongst the inviting features of the house is the cosy log fire in the sitting room and a spacious conservatory where guests can enjoy their breakfast each morning. Ideally situated at the corner of the "Three Counties" (Carlow, Wicklow and Kildare) this farmhouse is the perfect place to enjoy sightseeing and a whole range of outdoor activities including hill walking, fishing and entertainment. The local area is rich in history and interesting places to visit.

AMENITIES AND ATTRACTIONS:

Baile Ricéad is ideally situated for walking holidays, being close to the well known Wicklow Way and Lugnaquilla Mountain (third highest in Ireland). The less ambitious walker is well catered for with a series of looped walks of varying distances along quiet country roads.

The River Slaney, just 3 kilometres away offers excellent game fishing with good catches of salmon and trout in season. The River Barrow is also an excellent source for the fishing enthusiast.

For golfers there are a number of fine, competitively priced courses in the immediate vicinity including Carlow, Killerig, Kilkea Castle and Mount Wolseley Hilton.

Baile Ricéad provides an ideal base for touring the many heritage attractions of counties Carlow and Wicklow. The Browne's Hill and Haroldstown Dolmens, well preserved examples of portal dolmens are within easy reach. Powerscourt Gardens, the peace and tranquillity of Glendalough and Avoca in Co. Wicklow may all be enjoyed on a leisurely day's outing.
